Balayage & Foiling
Adding highlights or lowlights to your natural hair colour is an effective way of uplifting your hair and refreshing your look by introducing variation and texture. We offer several different techniques, including free hand technique or in foils, depending on the effect you want to achieve.
Foiling
Foil is used to separate out the strands of hair to be coloured, and the lightener is applied using a brush. The foil is then folded and the colour is left to develop. This is also effective for lowlights, where a darker colour is applied to certain strands of hair.
Balayage
The colour is painted freehand onto strands of hair, without foils, with particular attention paid to the mid-lengths and ends. The results can be more subtle than foiling, for a natural, sun-kissed look.
During your initial consultation, we will take the time to understand what kind of look you want, and explain the differences in process and results.
